Superconducting Maglev Report

Superconducting Maglev Transport is inevitable. The case for this new transport system has been made by Drs. James Powell and Gordon Danby, the inventors of Superconducting Maglev passenger transport, in a newly published book, “The Fight for Maglev, Making America the World Leader in 21st Century Transport” now available on Amazon as an ebook or paperback. This is must reading for economists, energy experts, and transportation geeks. This is a good public policy and business school case and would be of interest to anyone who wants to make government work better.
The superconducting Maglev system was developed by Japan after the US shut down its research and development program in 1975 because the first Secretary of Transportation, John Volpe, stated that with airlines and the Interstate Highway System, America did not need a new high speed surface transport system. Japan’s system has been widely acclaimed for its performance, including President Obama’s recognition of their achievement on April 16, 2009, when he introduced the High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail program. Japan’s system holds the World speed record of 361 mph.
Of course, his recognition was exciting and we posted his statement on our website at www.magneticglide.com and on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkB_1QAADgE, But thus far the Obama Administration has pushed steel-wheeled high speed rail and no longer discusses Maglev, which is the lowest cost transport system bar none, and makes more sense than high speed steel-wheel rail. A new maglev industry would create millions of new jobs, and slow down our consumption of oil and tailpipe emissions. You will want to read the book and the papers posted on our website and join the discussion.
The book was written to continue the fight for Maglev and to build an audience and fan club for Powell and Danby’s 2nd generation superconducting Maglev, which is a lot more versatile, and cheaper to build.

We hope to get the attention of the media.  WNBC of New York is the first television program to show the book and interview Jim Powell and Gordon Danby.

We want to have more interviews and I will post them as soon as they become available.

Mike Dukakis and Michael Moore both think GM should get into the rail buenssis, That should be enough to tell you what a bad idea it would be for the US Government to enter the passenger rail buenssis using a tarnished automobile company as a starting point. Buy out the Canadians in a deal that includes Bombardier restoring north American manufacturing in a US facility. It’s plausible the tax payers might be fully reimbursed for the GM bailout (it’s happened before). All that GM has to do is be better than VW and the market capitalization would pay off the debt. That’s not an easy task but it will be impossible if the company loses focus on things like HSR, windmills, solar panels, etc.Cars represent one of the largest environmental impacts on the planet. There is far more that can be done in this arena over the next decade than would result from any HSR initiative. For GM to be at the center of this the company needs to focus it’s energy on capital on that mission and that mission alone.

I think this is another mode of mass tsarnit who’s time has come and is well overdue. I’m personally sick and tired of the TSA and the FAA red tape when I want to fly from point A’ to point B’. This is truly a revolutionary way to travel and not have to worry about flight delays because of weather conditions etc.. I’ll be the first in line to buy a ticket when I fly from Fla. to Me.as I do on a regular a bases.
